NASCAR Partners with BLAST for Major Esports Events
NASCAR’s Involvement in Esports
NASCAR has partnered with tournament organizer BLAST for the FNCS Global Championship and the Rocket League World Championship 2024. This collaboration will see NASCAR’s branding featured both online and at the physical event venue, the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
Event Details and NASCAR’s Role
The FNCS Global Championship is scheduled for September 7th-8th, while the Rocket League World Championship will occur from September 10th-15th. NASCAR will not only have a car on display at the venue but will also be involved in broadcast content where Fortnite and Rocket League players will engage in NASCAR-inspired challenges.
NASCAR’s History with Esports
NASCAR has a strong history in esports, especially with Rocket League. The league has been a partner of Psyonix, the developer of Rocket League, since 2021, creating in-game content. Additionally, NASCAR collaborated with Korean esports organization Gen.G on various activations.
BLAST’s Role and Recent Developments
BLAST, the tournament organizer, recently announced a deal with gaming furniture brand Blacklyte to become the official gaming chair partner for these events. BLAST started operating the RLCS earlier this year after a deal with Epic Games, which also included continuing BLAST’s FNCS production.
Alexander Lewin, SVP for Commercial Revenue at BLAST, stated, “We are excited to partner with NASCAR for the FNCS Global Championship and Rocket League World Championship 2024. This collaboration represents a fusion of two dynamic and passionate fan bases – esports and motorsports – coming together to celebrate competitive excellence. We look forward to delivering an unparalleled experience for all Fortnite and Rocket League fans and competitors. These events promise to deliver intense, high-stakes action, bringing together elite players and enthusiastic fans from around the globe for two unforgettable weekends.”
